Hyundai Reliability
It wasn’t always the case, but Hyundai has enjoyed a reputation for reliability for at least a decade. Having been blighted by widely reported dependability issues in the 90s, the South Korean brand has worked hard to reverse that reputation and reliability surveys consistently prove that work to have been effective. In 2011 and 2013 Which? named Hyundai the most reliable car brand on the market and it typically does pretty well in similar polls.
Our own recent study, which analysed 47,000 warranty policies over a two and half year period, is less positive however, placing Hyundai 21st in a field of 33 car manufacturers. Hardly world beating.
Nonetheless, looking at individual models, the feedback is generally positive. The Reliability Index currently rates the Hyundai Getz its 4th most reliable car, with the i10 (6th) and i20 (8th) also making the top 10.

How reliable are the top Hyundai models?
Getz
The modest Getz epitomises Hyundai’s reputation for well-made if unspectacular cars. It’s excellent reliability performance more than makes up for a lack of pizazz, and feedback has been uniformly positive. As mentioned above, it’s currently ranked 4th in the Reliability Index, making it one of the most dependable cars on the market.
i10
This neat little city car is another Hyundai that’s widely praised for its reliability. Indeed, the 2018 JD Power Reliability survey awarded it Most Reliable city car while What Car rated it second only to the Volkswagen Up in the supermini class.
