Take a road trip to South Africa

You may have seen Phillip Schofield recently taking a walk on the wild side for a brand new This Morning series.

If you like cars then the most exciting aspect may have been the section where he is driving a priceless Porsche 356 Speedster.

Not surprisingly the series is called Schofield’s South African Adventure and was inspired by his desire to go on awe-inspiring trips around the world and experience life outside the television studios.

Phil went with his wife Stephanie and was soon exploring Cape Town’s famous markets, watching exciting street performances and obviously taking the time to enjoy the local food and drink. Indeed, Schofield appreciates fine wine and visited the oldest winery in the country.

Not only did Schofield do the easy tourist sight seeing things, he went on full-scale adventures too. Table Mountain remains one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders and not only did he get to the top, without any worries about his own safety, abseiled to the bottom. After that going to a Safari park and watching the wild animals up close was something of a doddle. Not only did he see rhinos and the great efforts being made to save them from extinction, he got into the Atlantic and met a Great White Shark, nose to nose.

Phillip Schofield was open about the real dangers he faced in South Africa, “This was a definite first for me. And to be honest, I was a little worried at first when I realised how keen bosses were to put me with all these dangerous creatures! But every part of the trip was mind blowing and an absolute dream of mine to do.”

“The whole trip was a fantastic experience. I learnt more about wine, I got to see some of my all time favourite animals up close… it was the trip of a lifetime for sure. And I cannot wait to see it all again alongside our This Morning viewers when the films go out.”

”Schofield’ s South African Adventure will air on This Morning, 10.30am on ITV.
